
Ways to Connect when feeling Low on Energy
I have been there… heck I am STILL there…
No energy to do any rituals or spells. No energy to even take care of the chores that need to be done. All due to illness, flare up, depression, you name it. No matter what, the feeling of not BEING ABLE to do what we want or what we need to do is Frustrating! It sucks to be so damn exhausted all the time.
This Does NOT Mean You Are Less Than!!!
If you felt any emotion reading the above statement… please take a moment and read it again. Allow yourself to Accept the words as Truth. Many of us feel less when we cannot do the things we need or want to due to our bodies or minds not being able to. However, We Are NOT Less!!!!
What Can We Do In These Moments?
Do the things that make you Feel Good. Help you Rest. Nourish Your Body, Mind and Spirit! That alone, is a form of Connection to the Self that we are usually told is wrong, goes against the ideas of “being productive” 🙄
So, doing the things that Support YOU with INTENTION of Supporting YOU is Connection!! (and Yes it IS productive too)
That kind of Connection creates Change! It helps us Connect to Our Bodies in a Supporting and Loving Way. That means we will eventually show up for Ourselves in a More Supporting and Loving Way in all areas. Creating Boundaries to remove the things that drain our energy. Drain our time away from caring for the Self even better.
Here Are Some Low Energy Ideas:
Intention Setting for Rest
When you cannot get out of bed and Need more Rest… Tell yourself, “ I Give Myself Permission to Rest.” You can add or shift it to: “I Nourish My Body with Rest. I Allow Myself to Relax my Body, Mind and Let go of any guilt, shame, and harsh feelings that stop me from the Rest I Deserve!” Because we do Deserve Rest. That is not something we gotta earn. Ever!
Simple Candle Work
Light a Candle and just tell yourself you are absorbing the energy of the flame to Nourish Your Energy. That’s it. Just allow. (scented candles help a lot if you are someone who really enjoys them)
Easy Water Working Intention
If you have the energy for a shower or bath… Tell yourself “I wash off the heavy that is making me feel low energy. I Allow the Water to Nourish me at All Levels.”
Food and Medicine Intention Setting
As you are able to eat food, you can add in this Statement or Intention: “I Nourish My Body with this Food. I Honor My Body with this fuel.”
As you take medicines, you can add this Intention: “I Support my Body and Mind with these Medicines. These are Tools that help Me with….. insert whatever the medicines are for here….”
Talking to Our Body
I have learned of a way to “talk to our bodies” to aid in Connection. I will share it with you now. If you feel pain or stiffness… (or thing else you want to try to address really) Scan your Body with your awareness. I did this while laying in bed when I needed rest and had zero energy to move.
I felt pressures and pains in parts of my abdomen area… (recovering from food poisoning, ick!) I told my tummy, “Tummy, I Love You. I Feel You. How can I best support you now?” Then I just allowed myself to be open for any form of response. I felt the cool sensation I get when I am hot and drink some cool water. That told me to keep hydrating to flush out my system. Yes, I already knew to do that… however, my body sent signals for me to understand and Connect better.
Another example: My knees are constantly sore from old injuries. I told my knees, “Knees, I Love You. I Feel You. What do you need more of?” and as I was laying there, I felt a cold sensation on my right knee. As if I had an ice pack on it. So that told me to be more consistent with icing my knees to reduce inflammation.
If you know where organs are within your body, you can pinpoint out each one as you feel the need as well!
Responses can come in the form of memories of you doing something, get an idea that comes to you, hear or seemly think of something to do, smell something that may not make sense, even feeling an emotion can be a response. Then, Gift Yourself what your body is requesting.
Try it! Honestly, it may feel kinda silly at first. However, the more we get accustomed to Connecting with Ourself in New Ways… it opens us up to Deeper Healing, Feeling Better and a Greater Understanding of Our Own Unique Skills!
Please give Yourself Compassion. Always. You Deserve it!
I got food poisoning right before my 13th Wedding Anniversary. I couldn’t Celebrate that day the way I wanted. It was also Memorial Day. As we are both Veterans who have lost fellow Service Members overseas and here at home… I usually do a large-ish ritual to Honor Them. I had the to fight the thoughts that made me feel really bad about not being able to do these things.
As I write this, I am still not fully better. I am on the mend. Yet I needed a TON of sleep, water and being cared for. The whole month of May has been really weird for me and my physical health. It is being addressed with my doc, yet I am still frustrated big time. This is understandable as chronic illnesses and other crap get in the way of really Living!
When you feel this way, please remind yourself that our Human Bodies need Care, Love, Concern and are a Part of You. Therefore, You Deserve to Be Cared For! You Deserve the Rest and the Care. So, even when frustrated, Please Give Yourself the Gift of Care… However, it Best Serves You.
